Current Presbyopia Management Options

Presbyopia affects all of us at some point. As we approach our late 30's, our intraocular lens loses its ability to focus on things up close. At first, we experience eye fatigue and possibly some slight headaches. Some complain of burning eyes after reading or using a computer. We notice that we seem to need more light for reading, and we want to hold things further away when looking up close. Our far away vision can also be blurry either constantly or intermittently (especially if you are far-sighted). Unfortunately this will worsen naturally a bit every year.

In the past we only had a few options available to help with presbyopia. Thanks to modern technology, we now have many wonderful management tools. None are perfect as we are limited to the current technology available, but many allow our eyes to focus more like they did when we were 15! Here are the options...
