Drs. John and Lisa Bowen are both certified and licensed as Optometric Glaucoma Specialists and Therapeutic Optometrists by the State of Texas. These certifications are the most advanced designations for the profession in the State of Texas. They diagnose and treat conditions of the eyes (employing the use of oral and topical medications) and perform exams for glasses and contact lenses. Dr. John Bowen utilizes the most-advanced technology to diagnose and manage keratoconus. The husband and wife team have lived in Flower Mound,TX since starting their practice in 1998.
Dr. John S. Bowen & Dr. Lisa C. Bowen
Dr. John Bowen is from Sulphur Springs, Texas. He received his B.S. degree at the University of Houston and doctorate from the University of Houston College of Optometry. He completed an internship at the Orlando Eye Foundation where great emphasis was placed on eye diseases and pre- & post-op care of LASER surgery and cataract patients. He is also certified as a Optometric Glaucoma Specialist by the Texas Board of Optometry. Dr. Bowen enjoys fitting contact lenses (especially keratoconics), treating eye diseases, working with low vision patients, and training patients with binocularity disorders.
Dr. Lisa Bowen grew up in both Houston, Texas and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She too graduated from the University of Houston with a B.S. and later completed her doctorate at the University of Houston College of Optometry. She has received special training in pediatric developmental optometry with Dr. Jerome Rosner. She also completed an internship at the Orlando Eye Foundation. Dr. Bowen enjoys primary care, pediatrics, and treatment of eye diseases. She too is certified by the Texas Board of Optometry as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Having grown up in South Florida she speaks fluent Spanish.
In their spare time they enjoy spending time with their 10-year-old and 8-year-old sons and their dogs, Rudy and Scarlett. They are also active members of a local church in Flower Mound.

Dr. Jonathan Hebda, Optometrist
Dr. Jonathan Hebda is from Lexington, South Carolina. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of South Carolina. He received his Doctorate of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry, where he graduated with honors in 2009. He completed externships at Mountain Home VAMC in Johnson City, TN specializing in treating ocular disease; Woolfson Eye Institute in Atlanta, GA, where emphasis was placed on pre- & post-op care for refractive and cataract surgery; and McCormick Vision Centers in Austin, TX specializing in primary eye care. Dr. Hebda enjoys working with children as well as fitting contacts and treating ocular diseases.
He is a member of Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and Tomb and Key Honor Society. He is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association.
He is an active member of his church, enjoys the outdoors, playing sports and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Emily, live in Flower Mound with their son, Parker.
